Mulank: the day you were born
The mulank, or birth number, is the date of the month reduced to a single digit. Born on the 7th, your mulank is 7. Born on the 29th, it is 2 + 9 = 11, then 1 + 1 = 2. The month and year play no part in it.
Practitioners read the mulank as the everyday self: how you make decisions, how you come across, what you reach for under pressure. It is the number used first when checking whether a business name suits you.
Bhagyank: the whole date
The bhagyank, or destiny number, adds every digit of the full date of birth. For 23 August 1990: 2 + 3 + 0 + 8 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 32, which reduces to 5.
It is read as the longer direction of a life rather than the daily temperament, and it carries more weight than the mulank for decisions meant to last, such as a company name or a house.
Which numbers are lucky for you
There is no number that is lucky for everybody. Each number has a ruling planet, and the planets have traditional friends and enemies: the Sun and Saturn oppose each other, Mercury and Venus support each other, and so on.
A number is treated as strong for you when its planet is friendly to both your mulank and your bhagyank, workable when it is neutral, and best avoided when it is an enemy of either. That is the whole calculation, and it is why two people can get opposite answers about the same name.
What people use it for
The usual uses are a business or brand name, the spelling of a personal name, a phone number, a vehicle registration, a house or flat number, and the date chosen to start something.
Treat it as one input among many. A name that suits your numbers still has to be available, pronounceable and free to trade under.
