Every digit of the ten-digit number is added, and the total is reduced to a single digit. 98765 43210 adds to 45, and 4 + 5 = 9. The +91 country code is left out, because the same code sits in front of a billion numbers.

Traders often ask for a number totalling 5. Mercury rules communication and trade, so a 5 line is read as one that keeps deals and money moving. A 1 suits founders who want authority on the phone, and 6 suits businesses selling beauty, food or comfort.
